howie’s halfpipe

Today was a very un-eventful day, i just sat around listening to CD’s and looking at stuff on the net, it was raining and cold, it was one of those days that would have been a good day to curl up with a dvd, and 2 litre bottle of coke and pizza. But alas there was no dvd’s to watch, and i cant drink coke. But there was frozen pizzas in the freezer so i had some. The pizza was good.
I went to berowra baptist church tonight, It was odd being back there, its been over 3 years since that was my church, all the people have changed, all the young people are so old and mature, its an odd feeling, the music is pretty good there i liked it. The sermon i didn’t enjoy as much.
The sermon was more of a drama or a play, i think plays can be useful to set the mood and sort be the opening chapter to a sermon but as a whole sermon it didn’t work to well. The sermon was about true Christian character. The 2 ministers dressed up in surgans dress and had a dummy they where cutting open to reveal all the Christian organs. It was like a show and wasn’t very tight it was very spontaneous and not rehearsed, Tim who was one of the surgeons was trying to preach whilst his associate Bill would make funny comments which drowned out what Tim was saying and made it very difficult to follow what time had to say and very easy to follow the jokes.
I feel that Sermons should have illustrations but illustrations shouldn’t have sermons..
