They’re all still finding it funny…..dogs……bloody dogs.
Bloody Tom I blame him!
Dogged with a capital D
Here we all where sitting around at home, there was me, Tom, Chris, Pricilla, Tinku and Jo, and I decided to go and get a DVD, so I asked if anyone wanted me to buy them anything for dinner and bring it home for them, Pricilla suggested pizza, so I said ok I’ll get pizza.
Then off up to Hornsby I walked in the freezing bloody cold, I went to Video Ezy and had a chat to Mark and got a DVD, then I went across to Woolies to get the pizza for everyone’s dinner. I bought the pizza then walked home. Its damn cold outside and here I was walking home with dinner, oh and milk cause Jo rang and asked for milk. I get home and begin to unwrap the pizzas and put them on trays, turned the oven on, put the pizzas in.
I then went across into the living room and told people not long til pizza its cooking now, and Tom, Chris and Pricilla burst out laughing, I didn’t understand at first then when tom began asking Pricilla when she wanted to go home I realised that I had been Dogged!
I brought home pizza in the freezing cold even put it in the bloody oven and it was all a giant Dog
They dogged me big time.
Its time to dog it forward big time..stupid bastards. Sooo rude.
Lost trust that’s what’s gonna happen out of this!
Genetically Modified Chicken Lays Its Own Dipping Sauce
Yesterday, I went to fusion, as I do every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. I called some places about venues for the next day trip . I had a meeting with Steve and went to jacks. Oh and we went to Ziatereasa pizza for a birthday lunch for kaia, like a staff lunch thingy, that was fun the pizza was good, except the vegie one that was kind of boring tasting!
Last night tom and I watched “standing in the shadows of Mowtown” a documentary about the funk brothers. It was very good and very well made I recommend you hire it!
Today I woke up and went over the Chris’s house for my second guitar lesson, that was fun I learnt about tuning and chris made me play cord without looking at my sheet and I worked I remembered them, although I’m not very good at changing between cords yet, I have a song to put together now “better be home soon” by Neil Finn (Crowded house). I love Neil Finn.
After my guitar lesson me, Chris, Tom, Tinku, David and Kaia went to the foodcourt for lunch, I had a large nugget meal from Maccas that only cost me $4.30 for some reason I think the girl must have put it in the register wrong and because I used eftpos when i brought it up she said don’t worry!
After foodcourt I bought a tuner, then came home to mind Hannah for the afternoon. Now I really love Hannah I see her as my little sister, but man she’s gotta learn to use the toilet! Most of the time she does, but I it seems to be her attention seeking exercise at the moment. This afternoon she did poo in her pants twice and wee once, so that’s 3 pants changes for me, not to mention she came home from school with wet pants in a plastic bag. So today has been a big day for me. Cleaning up poo is definatley one of the things I am dreading about fatherhood, I have such a weak stomach when it come to poo, I’m fine reading in cars, or going on roller coasters but put me near poo and the weakness begins. I’ll clean it I just have to walk away and take some deep breathes every now and then. I hope my wife understands.
There has been a lot of talk about blogging lately and why people blog and who they are blogging for and why should they blog and that sort of thing, and the conversations have got me thinking. Why do I write a blog,? And my conclusion is that I don’t know, its fun, but why is it fun is it fun cause I can just write or is it fun because I’m writing and entertaining people or at least attempting to entertain, is it fun because people read it therefore they are interested in my life, I don’t know I have no idea, I just really enjoy blogging. Is it extreme self indulgence, or is it just fun. Would I be upset if no one read it ?
I don’t think I could write about my thoughts and feelings if no one was reading it, I know that sounds strange, but having an audience makes me talk about it, if I had no audience I just don’t write or talk about my feelings at all, and I don’t really talk about my feelings all that much on my blog but I do a bit and that bit would be gone if I wasn’t writing for an audience. It’s a bit strange, I tried to write a journal once but I couldn’t keep it up, I just cant do it, unless its for people to read. Like the journal I wrote in Uganda was kind of deep I talked about feelings and stuff but I knew that when I got home the journal was going to be how I explained my trip. I really enjoy writing but only if its for a purpose and myself is not a purpose that I can write for.
Did any of that make any sense at all ?
I just did my tax return I’m getting $47.11 gonna get me a DVD!
I had my interview at IPC today and so did chris, Chris was saying that they cant do anything if he doesn’t do what they ask, but they can because they are a job network member who centrelink has out-sourced too, but IPC is nice and they will tell centrelink you are doing the right thing. I had to fill out lots of forms and they are giving me this personal website thing that has my resume on it and jobs that I should apply for.
The chick who took my interview seemed about 12 years old and in here head I think she was thinking “look at me, look at me I’m 12 and I have a job, you don’t ,look at me, look at me” It was a bit strange any way that was my IPC experience, then I went downstairs to Centrelink and I was served by Darren who said “good afternoon Robert” I then handed him my form which had my name on it! I have become a centrelink regular part of the family, that’s not good.
Anyway Darren just looked up at me and said “Did you have a good weekend Robert, bit of time to relax” I said “yeah it was good how about you” and he started going on about how he needs a good break at the end of the week so he can recharge his batteries so he is fresh for work on Mondays, I then made a joke about how me both need a break at the end of the week after a strenuious week working for the Government, he didn’t get the joke and said I needed to declare any employment I may have even if it was with the government. He processed my form and I went off to jacks.
Other people have a couple of days off blogging and they get a little bit of harassment, I take 2 days off blogging and I get absolutely dogged! There are reasons for my lack of bloging and none of my reasons are because I have been spending too much time sending SMS’s or too much time talking on MSN. As much as everyone wasn’t that to be my reasoning its not. Friday I was at Rough Edges and Boys Brigade, and I didn’t blog from Rough Edges because I was teaching people and talking to people, then when I got home from Boys Brigade I helped tom pack for the next days filming and then went to bed because I had to be up at 6:15 the next day for filming, So that is my reason for not blogging on Friday.
Yesterday was day 1 of filming for TOOBSC, which went really really well, We left home a little late and picked up Ryan and Lesley on the way. Yeah I agree with Ryan, Tom’s church friends are cool, and good actors too. It was a good day with no one getting pissed off on set, no technical hitches and almost all the intended filming was done. A very smooth shmick day, My camera is annoying sometimes, like its stupid sound condenser thing, when no one is talking it turns off the mic, like a voice activated mic on a walkie talkie so in between lines and stuff there is a “crack” and even in-between words sometimes, its a bit of a dog, and also the stupid base plate where the outputs are is in a dodge place so its hard to put your hand through the hand thing.
But all in all it was a very productive, constructive, positive day.
After filming we went home, and began to get ready for Kaia’s 21st, we took a while to get ready tom was making a card but the printing didn’t work properly and jo wanted to go to Borders first and it all just took a bit longer than it should have but we got their eventually, I don’t really like parties and this was no exception but I did manage to mingle around and not just hang with the usual people, although I did hang with them aswell, I was very tired which didn’t help.
Tom and I left the party at about 11pm and came home, he went to bed, I put a wash on and hung it out and then went to bed.
Today I met jo in chatswood and we went back to belrose on a bus, I never catch busses it was interesting, then at belrose jo had a ranged to meet up with her friends and that was very awkward for me, I didn’t know any of them and I didn’t really fit in at all, I just sort of sat there not saying anything, or doing anything for a good hour or so. I hate meting new people it freaks me out especially when its not is a familiar environment, I don’t really even know jo all that well so there I was hanging with a bunch of chicks in belrose not saying a word. Craziness.
Then it was off to church, tom was watching the footage from yesterday so I stayed with him for a while while jo and Helen arranged a notice or something then we went into the church. I like toms church I have said this before but seeing as I still like it I’m gonna say it again. And I know more people there now which is good cause I don’t stand around at the end of the service by myself now.
Then it was off to maccas which was fun. Then home and then now!
what a boring post that whole post is “and then” “and then” …sorry.
Its been so long since i last blogged, sorry, but i’m not gonna say much now. Too damn tired, filming was good, kais party was good, sleep is good!
Firstly I would like to talk about “Dog it Forward” seeing as I am co-founder of this movement and I feel that I am aptly qualified to speak about issues relating to the movement.
It seems that not everyone is familiar with “dog it forward” what is stands for and how it works so lets take the time out to explain it.
Dog it Forward is simply practical jokes and smart arse comments with some kind of structure backing them up, Dogging has been going on for centuries, people putting their little brothers hand in warm water whilst he is sleeping, Short sheeting someone’s bed when they are out, hiding thing in their room, switching their coke with pepsi. That sort of thing, that is dogging and dogging it “forward” simply means if someone dogs you then you go and dog someone else thus passing on the dog and expanding the “dog it forward” movement. The framework was taken from pay it forward.
“Dogging it Forward” was not meant to be used as a way of emotionally hurting someone who then has to go and emotionally hurt someone else, unfortunately emotions have entered dog it forward and I have to take some blame for that but they shouldn’t dog it forward is mainly for physical dogging of another person who then in turn dog another.
“Dog it forward” is new normally when you get dogged by someone you “dog it back” but this is a new twist a new chapter in the world of dogging, So I say don’t diss it yet for its only new and it could be a brilliant and beautiful thing. Take Communism for example people dissed it in the beginning and look how strong it is now and how good it is. Ok Ok Ok that was a bad example, how about Big Brother, no no that’s another bad example. Look there are no good examples I can think of right now, but I’m sure there must be some……somewhere……maybe……….oh
“dog it Forward” should not be used if it hurts people in any way.
On another note today I was up at the office ringing people to see if thty could get a mini bus for the 9th of August for free or really cheap, that was a bit hard finding out who to ring and stuff, then I had lunch with david and kaia and then it was time for jacks.
After Jacks I met Chris and he took me guitar shopping, I bought one too it was $229
Thanks Chris! Oh sorry for dogging you in your comments too, it was emotional
Then me and tommy and Lesley had a meeting about filming on Saturday which will be fun and now I’m blogging and talking to the whole world on msn
yet anohter post without spell check due to Toms Office being a dog. But thats ok its just like old days where my blog posts made absolutely no sense because ther where so many typos.
Today Jo was coming to the foodcourt, to hang out with the gang (mallrats if you like) but she was running late so myself Tom, Tim and Chris went down to turramurra and took the car through the car wash, it was fun, the big brushes and water and suds its all very exciting, tom said it was alike goig to Australias Wonderland. But going to a car wash is like where grandparents would take you if you asked them to take you to Wondrland. You know how grandparents work they ask you what you want for your birthday, you tell them a playstation 2 and they go out and by an atari at Valda’s garage sale and cake stall. You ask for a Billabong jumper and they buy you a boomdoggers T-shirt.
I cant really say all this because my Nan and Grandma are great to me, and i have nevr asked for a playstation 2 and if i asked for a billabong jumper i would get a billabong jumper.
so jo was late but we did all make it to the foodcourt later, i had a roll from staks and some fruit salad and a buddy.
Then it was minding hannah time, where hannah invented a new game where she puts a big plastic bin over her head. It was very funny, good old hannah.
On wednesday ngihts we are going to have a household dinner from now on, jane thinks it would be good to have at least one night where we all eat together, we are gonna have a bible study and stuff together. Tom’s comming later cause he’s at a rehersal for TOOBSC.
I love coke.
I forgot to talk about my phone call that I got yesterday. But now I have remembered.
I got a phone call yesterday from a recruitment agency woman,
Woman: Is that Robert Howie
Me: yep sure is
Woman: its blah blah from blah agency
Me: oh hello
Woman: Robert you didn’t come in for an interview today
Woman: you had one this morning at 10
Me: oh no, oh no, oh man I forgot about it, oh sorry.
Woman: well I don’t think we will worry, don’t worry abut making anew time, goodbye.
My memory sucks sometimes, and this was one of those times
Tom called me his D.O.P, now as much as I like the title of Director of Photography, I’m not the D.O.P on this film, I’m just a camera operator, D.O.P’s are responsible for the lighting and planning of each shot they tell the camera operators what to do, they sit down with the director and the production designer and plan the shoot and how to make it look and portray it. I’m not attacking Tom just pointing out that I’m not the D.O.P as much as I want to be. But I tell you what camera operator is a step up from holding the boom and an even bigger step up from being not “aesthetically pleasing” enough to be the boom operator in “will you love me”.
Good on me for studying film and TV production for 2 years. One day I’m gonna make a film and Tom can be a cable runner, except if there is any chance that a ‘making of’ camera will se him and in those instances he will have to leave the set. Oh and if I make a second film tom can be assistant camera operator, except if the shot is important then he will have to go and stand at the back of the set, and face the wall.
you can tell its Tom filming time cause I’m getting all rude towards him.
I love you tom, really I do. just dogging it forward.
Todays post will not be run though spell check due to word crashing, so i’m sorry if thes post goes all crazy and you cant understand a damn thing. So far so good i think!
Today i slept in with no pansy alarms wakeing me up then i went to the foodcourt, who would have guessed. Todays foodcourting was with Angus and Tom, Angus had KFC silly silly man!
Then it was off to Jacks for me, i sat around and played with clothes pegs, i didnt really get involved today i’m not sure why i think my mind was in other places i was a bit vague today. Then after Jacks me and kaia went to Carlingford Maccas then back to her house to watch Rove, its a good show Rove, i like live television.
Then i walked home.
I dont really have much to say tonight, chris said my blog posting is thinning out. But dont fear people i wont slowley fade away. my blog is here to stay. that rhymed, maybe i should play on that!

Well here I am again, stupid new phone, well its not a stupid phone at all its quite smart did you know that my phone can convert fahrenheit to Celsius, so helpful for all those times I’m cooking mummas apple pie and I’m using an oven that has fahrenheit.
Anyway the point is that I still think the alarm is woosey and this new phone is defiantly a girl, so timid and feminine, and I’m not sure I want a timid feminine phone, this could be bad, once a month for a few days my phone will get really agro and highly strung and I dont want a phone with mood swings. when it gets a bit older it might start wearing foundation, then I wont be able to read the bloody screen. This is bad comedy i’m gone stop now!
Well moving along today I went to the Fusion office at about 10:30 and stayed there for an hour or so just printing out stuff about video cameras, then I went to Dick Smith and bought some blank CD’s and some blank videos so I could copy the Uluru video but alas the computer was being a dog. So I sat around then went up to the foodcourt with tom and mitch, that was fun then it was off to jacks. Only one kid turned up at jacks today but that’s ok we had fun, refilling the deepfryer with oil we later found out was the old oil, it was gross it stunk and was full of chunky bits, we had to empty the deepfryer and stevie cleaned it out.
After jacks I came home and felt really tired, don’t know why it was a very laid back day. I read blogs and talked to David who came round to fix toms computer, then tom and angus came home and eventually Chris and we all watched “undercover brother” which was funny, oh tom sat in his room doing stuff on his computer.
now I’m blogging.
we are getting a stedi-cam and a dolly for TOOBSC….very posh indeedy.
welcome to blog land Sal and Rach, you guys have seen the light.
maybe this one
Dreadnought Acoustic $ 349 RRP
pizza shop chick “enjoy your pizza”
me “enjoy your pizza too”
man thats bad!
I’m going to take a leaf out of Chris’s book and do a post about “yesterday”. Yesterday I woke up at 9am, crazy man it was a Saturday and I was up at 9 anyway Col was coming round at 10 to talk about this video for the bush fire brigade that tom and I started about 3 years ago. So he arrived and I showed him stuff we had made since our last sighting, he liked toms bill the biblical bushman video and he liked my uluru video too. He’s a funny chap that col.
He left so I had a sleep then Chris called me about going up to Hazelbrook for Stevies gig. We drove up the mountains and went to the yike at the Caldors house, it was a good night. Chris and I with help from Jem write an alternate version of Steve’s song “ATM” in the car on the way up, and at the end of the first set he got us up to sing it, we dogged Steve a bit at the end of this song wich was all fun and games, we introduced him to the new revolution “dog it forward”
People laughed at our song, infact I was just watching bits of the video and Sue Caldor laughed a lot, very close to the camera.
I had some wine and lots of biscuits and Chris and I went outside for a while at the end and had a little bit of a jam but it wasn’t all that good. So we went back inside and played a bit more with Steve after the gig was over.
Then we went back to the Bevis’s house for some sleepies.
This morning we went to leura for breakfast, man so much work trying to be posh, this caf? isn’t good enough, this one doesn’t have this and this one is too expensive, I like that one, what about that other one. Good thing about Maccas they are all the bloody same.
Anyway I had some scones and so did Chris and Jem.
Then we came home via the bevis’s house again because Jem left some stuff there. When I got home I had a shower then a sleep then went and met David from some Sunday hot chips and gravy.
I went to video ezy then came home.
I found the problem with our network internet thing, you see there has been no internet here since yesterday morning but I found a dodgy cord today and replaced it, its all good now. I should be in IT
I wanted to start editing the wedding video tonight but premiere is being a dog and not opening, well it opens but then it closes straight away due to an error or something.
So now I’m blogging.
I hired “undercover brother” to watch on DVD tonight, maybe tom will watch it with me when he gets home.
