Well yesterday was the wedding,
July 13, 2003 3:43 pm general chit chatWell yesterday was the wedding, between Mark and Susanne it began at St Stephens Belrose and I was on the roaming camera and tom was on the back camera with a tripod, a very posh hired miller tripod. It was a bit scary filming this wedding, I have never filmed a wedding before. There was this photographer guy who it seemed like he was making it his mission to stand in front of every shot I tried to take, and it times it looked quite purposeful, but that’s life in the wedding business.
I got some good shots I think at the ceremony.
Then it was off to the reception where we arrived early to case out the joint and do some setting up of camera gear, we met the DJ guys and we all had a little table off to the side of the reception where our dinner would be served. We became more friendly with the photographer seeing as we had to share a table with him, and he became much nicer towards us, so from that point on he seemed much less stand of ish, although he still did stand in front of our shots a lot. I think $200 for a wedding video way way to cheap, but its my first wedding so I didn’t know what to charge. It ended up that me and tom earnt about $4.15 an hour each, even McDonalds isn’t that bad. I talked to the few people that I did know at the reception a fare bit during the bits that didn’t require any filming. All in all it was a long day, but a bit of fun mixed with a bit of scariness mixed with a bit of do I really want to be doing this mixed with a bit of food.
