Tourism
steve updated!
dial up internet is such a dog, i think my parents should get cable for those 2 weeks in the year when i am here! If they had cable internet it would give armidale at least one brownie point where as at the moment it has about minus 56,987,600. lovely town, so much to do, here is a lit of tyhe things on offer for me.
* sleep
* eat maccas
* eat subway
* sit in “Noah’s ark picture framing”
* walk around aimlesly
* watch TV
i can see the tourist brochure now
ARMIDALE
“the capital of nothing”
Armidale is a quant little town set in the mountain ranges of the amazing New England district, just 6 hours drive from sydney or 8 hours on the train. You could fly aswell but the airport has sheep on the runway ay the moment.
When in armidale try out some of our local atractions,
we have access to television and some local programming, where you can leanr about cattle dip.
If that doesnt ticke your fancy you could always look at some sheep, or drive through one of our 2 sets of traffic lights.
And if after that you are still thirsty for more, there is always the charm of of our 47 varitey stores encluding Clints crazy Bargins, Crazy clarkes, Go_lo and my favourite dollar dazzler.
For the young at heart Armidale has a thriving night life with the workes club open til 8pm and the petrol station til 9.
Armidale, after a long drive isnt it good to know that its more interesting at home.

Armidale
Armidale is a strange place, its like its another country with different customs and different ways of doing things, they also seem to be back in the 80′s somewhere.
Aparently in the 60′s the armidale regio (new England) was going to become its own state, and there are still pushes from many to make it a state (new england). I guess that way they could live in the 80′s forever and no one would say anything becasue its the new england way, tourist would come ftom all over to re-experience the 80′s.
walking past the Maccas Drvid thru this afternoon was a cool, there was a line of about 6 dirty old dusty utes lined up waiting to order drive through.
There is lot of pubs here too, but no RSL, they have a workers club which is kind of the same but not as posh.
My nan gave me $1,000 for my birthday today and a letter from my grandma in scotland had a cheque for 200 pounds, which turned out to be $475 Australian. I’m going to give the money to my mother so that i dont spend it. So i can go over seas, casue mum and dad are giving me a ticket to the UK for my birthday.
mum wants the phone…i’ll be back.
I”m in armidale now.
I watched tv last night, my parents watched a doco on the sbs about turkish men and different styles of mostashes.
gonna see my nan today
Last night I caught 4 trains, 2 ferries and a bus. It was a fun night, I had minestrone for dinner and we had biscuits for dessert. I think jo is expecting me to talk about how much of a disaster it all was due to transportation problems. But I don’t think it was a disaster at all, we had fun, just cause it didn’t run to plan doesn’t mean it was a disaster, we got to go on ferries and busses and trains. It was all fun.
Walking through manly this bunch of guys walked past and the 2 at the back where having the following conversation
Man 1: I’m sick of this shit!
Man 2: What shit?
Man 1: The shit shit!
Man 2: what shit shit?
And at city extra the bowels they gave us looked like toilet bowels, making my minestrone look all the more appealing.
Today I had lunch with David in the food court then we went Discman shopping and I got one, david pitched in as part of my birthday present.
Tomorrow I go to Armidale to visit Mum and Dad and Nan, I’m coming home next Tuesday. But I’ll still blog a bit whilst gone.
I’m listening to “the goons” at the moment on CD its very funny, Hannah is enjoying it a lot too, she is laughing loudly.
hello world, here i am in an internet cafe in chatswood, how fun………..
waiting for jo
there is a lot of geeks here playing network games, they are very loud and swearing at each other a lot.
the birthday debrief
Let me tell you all about my day yesterday, the day 20 became sooo last year!
I woke up at 8:13 and had my shower and then applied for jobs for centrelink, whilst on the computer jane came in with part one of my present from her, it was coco pops, apple juice and rasin toast. My favourites! After I had finished applying for jobs and filling out my form I came up to the fusion office. There where balloons on my desk and a cherry ripe and a trail of coloured pieces of paper leading from my desk so I followed them. Dear…….Bobert…….I…….Hope…….You…….Have…….A…….Great…….Birthday…….Here…….Is…….Part…….Of…….Your…….Present…….Lots…….Of…….Love…….Kaia.
Then at the end of the trail was the office fridge, I opened the door and there it was, shinning like a shimmering light. 10 600ml bottles of coke, awesome…
Back at my desk there I was sipping a coke and Bel’s mum(Judy) came over with a wrapped up present in her hand, I took the present and being the sensitive gentleman that I am I read the card first before ripping apart the wrapping paper to get to the free stuff. Anyway I opened up the present and there it was 2 Miller shirts, I love miller, they make the bestest tripods ever And a tripod tightening key thing which is also very cool. In the pocket of on of the shirts there was an old breath mint too, It looked semi chewed, for some reason I wasn’t allowed to keep it!
Then came Bel and Steve’s pressie. Bel made wrapping paper out of a green manila folder and some staples, I think she used a manila folder because just a few minutes before she was saying how we wont need to order any manila folders for a long time because there are so many in the cupboard. I like green. Steve and bel gave me sanity vouchers, personally I think that is quite rude because I’m already sane I don’t need to go and get more sanity. But I’m very thankful for the CD shop vouchers, I have to go get a new cd now, new cd’s are the bomb! Especially seeing as day of purchase is a two play day.
We went to the foodcourt for a birthday lunch, that was fun I had a large nugget meal from maccas.
Then at jacks whilst steve was blowing up the electrical circuits with the dodgy hot dog machine Jen gave me a card and some pens, I love pens, I love buying pens and getting pens and using pens and sniffing pens and looking at pens and pens I love em!
Jacks was good, not all that many kids but still fun, we had mars bar slice.
Then I came home and on my bed was a card from the bradburys and more pens, I love pens.
And jo was there making dinner with jane, she gave me a micro easy cheeseburger, and some interim sunglasses. But there is part 2 of her present tonight, I don’t know what it is but I ha do know I have to go to belrose to get it. I did some bnlog reading and email reading and stuff. Maybe a little webcaming too ? cant remember.
Then me jo and jane had dinner together, jane made lasagna I love lasagna, infact I love lasagna more than I love pens, not more than I love coke though. David turned up towards the end of dinner and we all chatted away. Then jane gave me part 2 of her present which was a CD, “the goons” I love the goons and a bob the builder dinner set and a bob the builder notpad, and wait for it…….a pack of pens. I love pens! You can never have too many pens.
Chris and kaia and jo and tinku all came too, we watched malcom although only myself and david finished it.
Kaia gave me a photo thing of photos of me and her in a frame and stuff, a bit girly but that’s ok, I’ll put it on my wall, I like putting things on my wall.
I bought kaia a giant chupa chup once that was a good present, I was just reminded of it!
And that was my birthday.!
a paraprhased day
jumped on in bed by jem, ryan, hannah and jane,
gelato with kaia,
webcam with tinku,
hot chips and gravy with david,
visit with lesely,
chat with jane,
assignment with tinku,
sms with jo,
phone call with mother,
chicken and chips for dinner.
Trackwork, busses and a lost nemo
Well today I went to Jo’s house, I met her mum, we watched 8 mile and sat around we also had maccas for lunch as previously highlighted. Today was trackwork day so in total I caught 2 trains and 4 busses. That’s what I call commitment.
Finding nemo
Awesome film
Crap cinema
Actually it was more than awesome it was just amazing, pixar are the bomb when it comes to films these days. Such good animation and script and stuff it was really really cool
And actually the cinema was worse than crap it was shocking, dodgy seats with no leg room and short back rest, screen long long long way away and not much bigger than home television, sound quality something to be desired, infact wouldn’t surprise me if it was 2 computer speakers gaffer taped to the wall down the front and we where watchig the film on a burnt vcd that was picked up in Singapore on Barry’s last overseas trip. Not to mention the tall guy in front of me, his head filled half the screen all I saw was blue water for an hour and a half no fish, I never found nemo.
142 people went including me..not a bad turn out.
Chilling in parramata
here is my first blog post from parramata (belrose)
we had Maccas for lunch
clipart is one of those things that you just cant get rid of, there is always going to be someone who still thinks clipart is cool or useful or exciting. And some people even put clip art in powerpoint displays which is like a double hit of badness.
so its time to start a new social action group PAPP (people against power-point)
its a sub branch of PACA
I”m at rough Edges at the moment, just kicking back, only one person here today for computerness and she is just playing with google.
fuzz has a good beard
Office, jacks, and home that was my day.
Office did some folding of newsletters and a bit of stuff with the video computer, the office is fun, I think I have disrupted the office a bit though since joining, because I find myself being silly an awful lot…
Then went up to the foodcourt with Kaia which was good we had some maccas and then went and bought some bee’s wax for candle making up at jacks today.
Candle making was fun I made a big candle thing well its 5 candles stuck together.
Yes yes last night we did see down with love, it was a very good looking film, well editied, well lit it was just a very nice looking film and very clever in some parts. IT was so cold yesterday I was wearing my jacket with no sleeves all day and then I went straight to Chatswood after jacks so I had my sleevless jacket out in the freezing night, I was so cold.
Yesterday at jacks I did more work on my paddle pop stick house, it now has a floor and a front fence and stuff. I might paint it when its all finished.
Had a good meeting with Steve yesterday too, we met in the foodcourt it’s a good meeting spot,
Social Action
I’m going to start a social action group called PACA (People against Clip Art)
meetings and meetings and meetings
Today being Monday was state team day, where all the team from across the state get together for a day, hence the name “state team day”. I’m surprised its not called FSTD or some other such acronym, why is it that Christian organisations love acronyms so much ? I have never under stood it or should I say NUI (never understood it)
Anyway it was a long day out at Quakers hills which is somewhere out west I don’t really know where. It was in a church that was above a derilict shopping centre, I want to make a film in the shopping centre and fit the shops out and stuff. Like in the blues brothers they found a closed down shopping centre and fitted it out then filmed in it, very cool indeed. I’m getting distracted, oh yes team day or FSTD was like the state conference or FSC only it was only one day long. They seem to repeat stuff a lot repeat stuff a lot repeat stuff a lot, which I don’t know I guess it gets a bit boring, I sort feel like, yeah they have all these big plans and great ideas that will help the youth of our nation but we never have time to actually impliment these ideas and goals because we are always in meetings learning about the ideas and goals.
Anyway after the FSTD I came home and had a sleep for an hour and then it was off to a Day trip planning meeting or FDTPM as we like to call them, that was a good meeting though, I think stuff actually got achieved and will because of the meeting more stuff will happen,.
Tomorrow I have a meeting with Steve or a MWS
And that ladies and gentlemen was my day.
Today was a another sleep in day, I miss my sleep in days, they used to be everyday these days its more like once every 2 weeks. But this weekend has been 2 days in a row, bloody ripper I say. I got up at about 12:30 I think today and sat around reading blogs and emails and just general bumming until eventually I went to chatswood to meet jo, we went back to belrose and sat on the oval then went to church, then after church we went to maccas for a while, then me tinks and jo french drove to croydon then me and tinks drove home.
Once home I had a longish chat to tom, which was nice I like having good chats with tom, we talked about church and fusion and stuff then he went to sleep.
Just then me and Tinku went up to Hornsby station so he could buy a train ticket before peak hour kicks in so its cheap…..dodgy boy that tinku!
7 days til I turn 21…what a dog!
I’m listening to “the best of the eagles” at the moment, good old music!
Today I bummed and am still bumming, I got out of bed at 1:30 and sat around chatting to Ryan and tinku and the odd chat to tom who is sick in bed, me and Ryan went up to the foodcourt where we had some food from Zozan, my kebab wasn’t very nice.
Came home, had some pizza sat around bit of a gathering here, me Chris jem, jo tinku, tom and jane. Where is David, why isn’t David here? oh dear! Sorry David……..
Last night I went to David’s house and we watched “series 7″ on DVD it was good its a spoof on reality tv shows.
