ARMIDALE

“the capital of nothing”

Armidale is a quant little town set in the mountain ranges of the amazing New England district, just 6 hours drive from sydney or 8 hours on the train. You could fly aswell but the airport has sheep on the runway ay the moment.

When in armidale try out some of our local atractions,
we have access to television and some local programming, where you can leanr about cattle dip.
If that doesnt ticke your fancy you could always look at some sheep, or drive through one of our 2 sets of traffic lights.
And if after that you are still thirsty for more, there is always the charm of of our 47 varitey stores encluding Clints crazy Bargins, Crazy clarkes, Go_lo and my favourite dollar dazzler.

For the young at heart Armidale has a thriving night life with the workes club open til 8pm and the petrol station til 9.

Armidale, after a long drive isnt it good to know that its more interesting at home.

Armidale is a strange place, its like its another country with different customs and different ways of doing things, they also seem to be back in the 80’s somewhere.
Aparently in the 60’s the armidale regio (new England) was going to become its own state, and there are still pushes from many to make it a state (new england). I guess that way they could live in the 80’s forever and no one would say anything becasue its the new england way, tourist would come ftom all over to re-experience the 80’s.
walking past the Maccas Drvid thru this afternoon was a cool, there was a line of about 6 dirty old dusty utes lined up waiting to order drive through.
There is lot of pubs here too, but no RSL, they have a workers club which is kind of the same but not as posh.

My nan gave me $1,000 for my birthday today and a letter from my grandma in scotland had a cheque for 200 pounds, which turned out to be $475 Australian. I’m going to give the money to my mother so that i dont spend it. So i can go over seas, casue mum and dad are giving me a ticket to the UK for my birthday.

mum wants the phone…i’ll be back.
