It was very hot again today, today was an enjoyable hot day. I’m very tired though, I never seem to get to bed before 1am these days.

In the office today I did a bit of folding of newsletters and also met with John that was good, I like john he’s a good man, A few phone calls a bit of office sillyness with the gang and visitor Debbie. Then it was café time.

After jacks I went to video ezy and got 3 dvd’s at the moment I’m watching “the last waltz” it’s a doco / concert about “the band” its pretty good its directed by martin scorsesie or however you spell his name I don’t know.

I also hired a movie called “sweet sixteen” which looks like a good film, its scotish the only problem is that the accents in the film are so strong, it has sub-titiles but I spend all my time reading the sub-titles so then I miss the film. I watched the first 15 minutes.

And I also got Indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark, I think I’ll watch that on Saturday.

Tom goes to New Zealand tomorrow, and so does john I think and Hannah is going somewhere or other and jane I don’t know about jane, gonna be a quiet weekend I think, I don’t mind I like quiet days, I should do some wedding editing. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

moulin rouge.jpg
Last night we got into a deep discussion at community dinner at the categorising of films, and the main point being is “Moulin Rouge” and Australian film or an American film?

It is directed and co-written by Baz Luhrmann who is an Australian using a large number of Australian cast. But the film was made by Fox who is an American company and funded by American money. The reason for it being made in Australia is cost, the film was entirely made using indoor sets so the place of filming could have been at any studio around the world, Sydney is cheap so it was made in our fox studios.

As far as I’m concearned it could have been shot is sweeden and still be an American film.

It was made to be an art house film that would make it in the states therefore it was made for American audiences , with American money by an American company, so I think its an American film.

Its not an Australian film.

Imdb lists it as being a USA / Australia film.

What do you think?

The daytrip amendment.

I would just like to say that I thought the daytrip was a great day and that I think the kids really enjoyed it and the organisers did a good job, and a hard job, all the negative feelings towards the day where mostly personal feelings reflecting on my own performance on the day.

If you’re a drought stricken farmer, I have the solution for you.

Ring me up and I’ll come out to you and hang my washing out on your clothes line, it brings rain every time!

Yesterday was one of those days that your glad it happened but you wouldn’t be upset if it didn’t.

It was hot, very very hot. For some reason I like it really hot, especially when you don’t have to do anything and you just sit around all day except when you walk up to the shop to buy a icy cold 600ml coke. Yesterday wasn’t like that because I had to make a video of the daytrip, edit it and show it in the evening program.

We met and jacks at 7:30 in the morning to brief the day then we headed out to bents basin, near waragamba dam, west of Penrith. People registered and ice breaker games where played, morning tea was had, ice breaker games where played, lunch was had then the rotational activities began. Only they didn’t go as according to plan as one would have hoped for. Kaia (who was the photographer) and I drove between the activities trying to find decent footage and photo ops. As I had to leave at 2:30 to go and edit it all together. We rushed between activites but it was very hard to get good stuff because of the extreme heat, and some of the activities had gone to the dogs with groups a bit bewildered as to what they where supposed to be doing and where they were supposed to be doing it. So I ended up with 21 minutes of footage. At 3 I left for the church, at quarter to 4 I arrived at the church and began to edit. It was coming together, not the best but it was the best under the circumstances, but then the laptop overheated causing a few problems I turned it all off and put the lap top upside down for 20 minutes then returned to editing, it was getting later and later and closer and closer to showing time. I finished the bodgy video and went and plugged it all into the projector and sound stuff. Then waited to play it.

Polly got everyone to cheer me before the video had even bee played, I didn’t enjoy that, infact I was very close to sinking down behind the chair that was in front of me and just hiding until everyone was facing the screen. I played the video, it was crap, there where bits I had forgotten to take the sound off, there where bits that went too long and some too short and some that just shouldn’t have been there…. I did hide behind the chair during the video so at the end I stayed behind the chair.

Getting on the bus at the end of the day was a nice feeling, jen and I chatted on the way home and I was able to forget about the video, I think next time will be better, this was also my very first daytrip so that made my task harder.

I cant bring myself to watch it again yet, maybe in a few days.

I think the young people had a good time, and the food was good, it was just my side of things that wasnt the bestest

this morning i got up at 8:30 and had my shower then walked to westfield to buy a visitors book, i bought the book and walked back to the office. At the office there was the usual sillyness i did get work done today aswell and jen and i went nshopping for jacks at coles and the lolly place. I like colin he is good value, hes the acccountant dude at work and he comes in on wednesdays.
Kaia popped in for a bit too.

The we came to foodcourt time (jen is still to scared to come). I walked across to the foodcourt where david was sitting at the table next to the table of dreams, i joined him and then jo, sarah, kara and tom arrived. We chatted and ate and people signed our newly aquired foodcourt guestbook. See if you come to our wednesday foodcourt lunch you will be able to sign our guestbook, and if you become a regular you get to put your name in the back section with the other regulars which at the moment is just me tom and david.

as i was walking home i had an idea for a television show, i think i should write it all down and who knows maybe one day i can pitch it to someone.

right now i’m hannah minding, hannah just gave me another poo incident to clean up, that is 3 weeks in a row now! I dont like cleaning up poo, last week i felt quite weak in the stomach cleaning it up…not as bad this week but still not “fun”.

(please read the following sentence in a brittish accent)

tomorrow will mark 3 months that jo and i have been together, thats fun. i like jo.
