after jacks i went to hornsby station to get on a train to go meet jo in chatswood, but because cityrail are being such dogs i had to wait 40 minutes for a train, and being mobile phone-less i couldnt call jo to tell her i would be late, and not having a phone also meant i didnt have her number.
I made it chatswood and we went into the city, ending up at pizza hut we had some dinner and dessert. We walked down the stairs and walked outside and as soon as we got into the street i felt really sick in the stomach, and thought i was going to vomit, then it didnt go away, and i told jo she said oh dear you need water, then as we where on the pedestrian crossing in the middle of bathurst street in the middle of the city i vommited, just there in the middle of the road, with other pedestrians quickly diverting their path and going around me. Then we sat down for a while and i drank water and kept feeling sick.
Eventually we walked into town hall station to find that there where no trains between central and north sydney. So we walked up on to george street and stood at the bus stop, but all the busses just drove straight past us, we walked up and down, the just kept driving past. it was after 11 now so jo was probably going to miss her bus from chatty.
The dogs at cityrail had moved the trackwork bus stop to out side the QVB but there where no signs saying so. DOGS!

Finally got on a bus, being in a bumpy bus made me feel quite ill, and i really needed to pee now, so it wasnt a very pleasent bus trip, holding in a pee and holding down a churning stomach.

We got to north sydney and jo held my bottle of water while i went and did a pee.

Then we went down onto the platform and the trian was there but the doors where closed because it was about to leave, then it just sat there with the door closed and us standing on the platform infront of a door. DOGS!, finnaly they opened the doors and we where able to get on, jo missed her bus but kara picked her up from chatty. I stayed on the train and walked home.

now i’m going to go to bed

flying Qantas one way to Wellington NZ which is 4,458km will cost you about $400 which comes to about 8 cents per kilometre.

Catching the train from Hornsby to the airport which is 35km will cost you $13.20 which comes to about 37 cents per kilometre.

Therefore if you could catch a Qantas plain from Hornsby to the airport it would cost you $2.80

And if you could catch a city rail train from Sydney to Wellington it would cost $1,649

Sometimes people say things that make me cringe a bit

“they live in our redfern, so therefore we can climb their rock!”

No thanks to cityrail! Dogs!

Flight from Wellington was delayed as they where pondering closing the airport due to high winds and rain and fog and stuff, it was an awful day in “windy Wellington” Anyway at the airport dad and I went halves on a pizza, that was good, then we went duty free shopping, I got a watch and dad got wine and mum might have got some perfume or something.
Got to Sydney a bit later than planned but that’s ok, for some reason we didn’t have to stop at quarantine, they looked at out entry cards and said just exit to your left, no X-rays..nothing, I felt like a diplomat.

Said goodbye to mother and father and began the trek home on trains, good old trackwork

Anyway all home now.

Well here is my last post [Live] from NZ. I’m in wellington we drove down this morning and mum and dad ar in te papa but I decided to come and blog instead. Our plane leaves at 3:30 so that’s kind of nice I can come home and sleep in my own bed and have a shower that delivers more that 4 drops per minute.

I have to say that I am now quite a liker or wine, I have had a lot of wine over here and I’m really getting into the stuff, so I think its fare to say that I’m now a wine drinker.

Yesterday Dad and I went on a jet boat tour of some river, that was fun, clold and windy but fun. There is so much wind over here its crazy.

New Zealand drivers are crazy, I think tom picked up on it in his blog a while ago, but there is really no point in councils wasitng their time and putting line markings on the road, NZ drivers don’t follow and lane markings, street signs or anything really they just drive,

All in all its been a prety good trip, a tad boring in parts, reminding me of armidale, but not too bad.

I never want to be an adult and have adult conversations, they are so damn boring

“yes I like arcitraves I must say”
“mmm they’re nice arnt they”

“what about this wall over here?”
“well I think I might make it a light purple”
“oh that would be nice’

“I’m thinking about replacing the aluminium window frames with wooden ones, what do you think?

It just goes on and on for hours and hours…

I don’t think I’ll mis musch of this place, even though its quite similar to australia its also very different, Its good to see most of the stuff in supermarkets is made is australia, there is even a rumour that australia makes New Zealands money.

Wellington was fun, after my last most I went to Te Papa and had a look around then just explored the city chops and streets and stuff, I had a good old time.
Then it was on the 6:18 train to masterton, which arrived at featherston at 7:15 where mum and dad where waiting for me.

Yesterday we went out to the east coast, that was a bit of fun, crazy little gravel road that twisted along the waters edge up over rocks and stuff, there was one place where the road had been washed away so they had built a “temporary bridge” and small cars could use the bridge and big cars had to drive through the water and rocks and stuff, we took the bridge.

At the end of the road was a lighthouse and there was a big staircase leading up to the lighthouse which was on the top of a cliff. 252 very step steps….good thing I’m so buff.

Then last night we went out to dinner with my grandma, auntie, uncle and cousin to a French restaurant. They where playing hooked on classics, very tacky. I went to the toilet and found that the urinal was in a cubicle. Very strange.

I think this will be my last internet usage in martinborough but I might go to an internet café on Sunday morning when we go down to Wellington, before I come home on Sunday afternoon.

well my wind famr entry is back but my 2 from this morning have siddapered now…:(

anyway i did end up[ meeting with chris and jem here in wellington, i went to their youth hostel but they wherent there so i sent them an email saying to meet a te papa at 10am, i then went and had some breakfast at maccas, as i was leaving maccas jem shouted out to me, so there it was jem had a great idea that i was probably in maccas, and there i was.

We drove around and went to the top of oe of the hills overlooking wellington where we played some ‘choice’ frisbee.

then we bought some food for lunch and walked around wellington. They had to leave because they are catching a boat to the south island at 3:30 so now hre i am alone in wellington until my train at 6:18 tonight.

I have to say its a bit of fun being in a strange city all by myself, i’m having a good time exploring, i want to find some sort of bungee acticity but the information centre isnt being all that helpful.

ohwell

must go and explore now..

oh and ryan, i bought a new frisbee, its a new zealand firsbee, i bit like the regent.

Today Australian wind farmers united to convey their disguist at the new free trade agreement signed by the USA and Australia yesterday. The farmers rallied today outside parliament house protesting. A spokesmen for the farmers Miss Gale Force said that “this agreement will have adverse affects on the Australian wind industry and wind exports will die down, throwing a light breeze over the whole Australian industry” She also said “American winds are not suited to our climate and increased imports from the USA could bring forward quite a few low pressure systems”

Australian wind farmers currently only export to New Zealand with strong to medium cross winds, and no wind is imported into Australia. But this new agreement with the USA will mean that American wind farmers can take a slice of the Australia wind market and introduce new types of wind into Australia. And if we are not careful some of the imported winds could be carrying dust and debre

Australian wind farmers are calling for a tight quarintine policy on all imported winds and sea breezes to ensure that Australia doesn’t begin to have tornados and hurricanes. And that the local wind market is not tarnished.

Miss Gale force also said “If we let the USA in what to stop the governemet from letting other countries bring their wind into Australia and blow away the local market”

Well I got up damn early on Thursday morning, and had my shower and packed my bags for NZ, I managed to all my packing in 10 minutes which is quite good I think for an international holiday. I trained it to the airport and met mum and dad at the Qantas check in desk. My mum went off duty free shopping and we almost missed the plain due to her going “what about these ones do they look good” “or how about these”. Yep the final boarding call was announced just as mum was paying for her new sunglasses. Walking down the gangway to the plane just in front of me was george Gregan, you know the Australian rugby captain. The whole ACT brumbies team was on our flight. They all had new ipods and where spending the flight telling each other how good they where and ho they can change the equilizer to ”
R’n B mode”

We arrived in Wellington and my auntie and uncle and grandma where waving to us, then about 20 minutes later my cousin from scotalnd appeared behind us out of the gate, she was on a different flight. Dad went off in search of our hire car and in 1 hours time he returned with the keys by this time it was just me mum and my auntie as the others had left with my uncle. We got in the car and began the drive to Martinburogh

Due to waitangi day I haven’t been able to blog, the only public internet access in this town is the one terminal in the liberary, but the liberarty isn’t open on weekends or public holidays and the last 3 days ave been either weekend or a public holiday.

We are staying ni a small cottage 3km out of town, it has a tv which is nice but that’s about it.

Th e wedding was a bit of fun,

It’s a bit like being in armidale, stuck in a little house in the middle of nowhere with nothing much to do. Mum and Dad seem to be enjoying it but I get bored sitting in the middle of nowhere doing nothing.
I have improved my Frisbee skills though, I have found a good time filler is throwing a Frisbee, you throw it then walk to hwere it lands then throw it back and so on…
I have also bee practicing throwing the firsbee through a fence, I stand a few metres away from the fence and try and get the Frisbee to go through the fence, hmmm maybe this place is more exciting than armidale.

Its not really all that bad, i’m having an ok time. I wouldn’t be upset if jo was here though.
Its good seeing bits of my family again, although I keep finding myself slipping into a new Zealand or Scottish accent depending on the company.

I’m not quite sure where my mum and dad are today, I woke up and they are gone so I walked into town to use the net.

I wanna go bunjee jumping.

Well peace out dudes.

Today one of steve and bel’s friends was coming round so I could help her edit a video for her church,
She turned up and we talked about what she wanted to do with the video, then I set up toms computer to begin the editing process, and there was capturing problems, eventually I got the capturing to work, then started to make a title, the title program was being a dog, and having a “sharing error”
Then premiere decided it would perform a few illegal operations and need to shut down the computer, after a few times of this I thought to myself, ok lets record the music and leave premiere for a tick, so I opened cool edit and record one of the songs, but then cool edit had a fit and wouldn’t save anything. So I went back to premiere and the project had disappeared and then it performed another illegal operation and shut down the computer.
Kylie had to rush off to a meeting so we never got much of her video edited

Yesterday I woke up at 12:45 then shaved, this took 40 minutes. Then it was shower time, I listened to Counting Crows “hard candy”.
After my shower I went to Dee Why beach with Ryan, Jo, Mil, and Tinku. It was fun, ryan and I tried to make a cube sand castle, it didn’t work out but we had some cool sand drippings on the top. A bit of swimming and some throwing of the “wahu”, which I think is crap, I couldn’t catch it or throw it.
Mil and I came home and I showered again and went up to Hornsby to meet david so we could go to adams 21st,
I didn’t know many people there, infact I only really knew david and adam, but I went I felt a blit flattered that adam had invited me so I decided to go. It was at the greengate hotel in kilara in a private bar. That was fun just going up to bar and getting a drink and not having to pay for it. The might went on and the wines and cokes went down. David and I discussed walking home earlier in the night and where still feeling it was a good idea by the end. So at 11:40pm we embarked on our 10.75kn (6.6 miles) journey. Along the way we chatted and at Turramurra we got a bottle of water from the quix petrol station.
We walked past davids house and I kept going, I decided to walk up through Hornsby mall just cause it’s a nicer walk, and as I entered the mall I saw a fire in the middle of the mall just past the water clock, As I got closer I saw that it was quite a large fire and there where a few people standing around laughing. Then as I walked past the fire it was a bunch of youth’s setting fire to a pile of newspapers outside the newsagent, No need to worry to much because it was only the daily telegraph. A Westfield security man came running with a fire extinguisher and put out the blaze whilst shouting at the youth’s who where still laughing. By the time I was halfway across the railway bridge the fire brigade arrived, but thanks to westfield security Hornsby is a safe place
