this and that
Back in downtown Korce
The internet café is pretty slow today, but I’ll cope. 2 more festivals to go here in Korce then its back to Greece. We had a day off on Sunday and went to a lake that borders Greece, Macedonia and Albania it was a nice lake with a little village on its shore. The villagers are Macedonian but their village is in Albania.
The population of Korce is 80,000 and there are only 500 Christians. So it awesome to see this group of Christians pulling together to run these festivals
Physically I’m fine I haven’t really been sick at all, I’m trying not to eat much meet to assist in the upkeep of my bowels.
Stupid google still hasn’t replied to my email about my ads being dogged.
Oh at the market yesterday I got a genuine Albanian old mans hat. It’s the bomb.
I also got some bright yellow shoes and some “adds” socks. Genuine fake addidas socks.
google blows
My google ads have been disabled becasue they say i have breached their terms and conditions.
Appratnly i have some bot or somethig that is generating clicks on my ads in a way to make me money.
I have no such thing i’m not smart enough to do anything like that. and even if i was smart enough i wouldnt do it.
So they have dogged me and said i can never be a part of the adsense program again and that any funds i had generated will not be given to me.
stupid, someone has dogged me!
dogs.
recap
Time to recap on the last week or so.
Well as yopu know i left sydney and flew to greece. In singapore airport myself jenny and julie ran into a group of other people going on the same trip to greece that was a bit of a surprise we all got on the same gulf air flight to Bahrain and then onto Athens.
In athens on our first night we bunked up at a large Scripture Union place after spending the afternoon at mars hill and sightseeing a bit of Athens.
THen the nex morning we hit the road for the 8 hour drive to the north of Greece to the town of Ptolemieda or however you spell it. A Lovely town where the local Evangelical church really opened their arms and embraced us, spoiling us with vast amouns of food and hospitality. We ran 4 festivals there over 3 days 1 each night in the main town square with croweds in the thousands and one very special festival in a physciatric hospital. THe patients in this hospital where lovely and it was a really special time.
THen after our time in ptolemieda we split into three groups one group went back to Athens one acoss to Thesaoniki and the group i’m inm off to Albania Korce.
So far we have run one festival in Korce.
Albania is a very interesting place, it is part of europe but not part of the EU, just 10 years ago it was a communist country there are many bunkers around the place from war times and most of the buildings are falling apart or fallen apart and abandonded. THe people of Albania have not had an easy life and they have a very low concept of themselves. But they are lovely. THere is a bit of a feud between albania and greece and it is fare to say that most of the population of albania does not want to live here.
Its crazy that they ae a developing nation surrouned by well established european countries.
its pretty hot during the day but at night its quite cool.
Having a very good time, a very tiring time but also very inspiring and eye opening. We have a great little team and i’m sdure we will bond together a lot over the next few days here in Korce. We are in Korce until next thursay morning and then we drive back across the border into Greece to meet up with the other groups again.
Be good to be praying for us and the Albanian people.
apart from that i dont really know what to say.
oh i got the coolest book for my birthday from Debbie Gower. thanks debsy.
they need more westfields in the world.
peace out dogs.
Korce
hello everyone i’m writting frtom Korce in Albania. A very different place to anywhere i have ever been before. I’m not dead.
having a good time will write again when i have time.
bye bye
singapore eh!
here we are in singapore its 4:35 am local time. And again i’m praising the invention of free airport internet.
Our flight was pretty good. I managed to find two seats by them selves so i stretched out and had a nap.
still damn tired thought casue it was a pretty patchy sleep.
boarding…
I left my blog open on the last computer. I left it open on the post about the gulf air crash, hopefuly i’m not now a terror suspect.
this is it. peace out dogs
extrodition
here we are at the airport. I love free airport internet.
about to go through the customs stuff.
I like flying . i just gave up my window seat so we can sit together.
the things i do for ladies.
kid of ruins the whole experience if you dont have a window or are close to a window cause you miss the two most excting parts of air travel. buti’ll be ok i have tissues.
anyway i might blog again if i get the chance but for now bon voyage my friends and foes.
hopefuly i’ll post a few times whilst in Greece.
my head is spinning
Well only a few more hours then its off to the airport for the adventure to Greece and Albania. My head is sore, woke up with a headache and its still lingering around, stupid head.
I know I blogged this photo last year but I thought it was important to point out once again the qualities of choosing to fly with gulf air.

lego is the bomb
WE played with lego at work today. I love lego.
I made a billboard and some poo.

Justine made a sheep

Happy Birthday howie
It’s not actually my birthday yet, but it feels like it. A new camera and accesories.
And today Krispy Kreme sent me a birthday card with a voucher for a free dozen of donuts.
yum.
If you are wondering my birthday is the 25th of august (whilst i’m in greece)
My Camera

Well here it is the Kodak Z740
5.0 Mega Pixel
10x optical zoom
Digital SLR
Internal memory and SD Cards.
I already had a 64MB SD card, which i know is a pansy card. Well today i got a 512MB SD card with some support money i got. So thats good that will be big enough to take lots of photos in greece.
Also Jenny’s parents bought me a camera bag for it too.
leaving on a jet plane
Well what a fun little early week getaway.
Yesterday jenny and I flew up to Armidale to see my parents before we head over to Greece at the end of the week. We had quite a lot of turbulence in the little plane yesterday, I found if fun but I think jenny was a bit freaked but there I was by her side yet again.
It was good to see parents again, I like my mum and dad. We where silly and rude to each other like we always are its fun. Lots of little jokes. My mum is a what I like to call “recovering hippie” so there where lots of chats about my diet and what I should eat and everything should be brown.
My nan is awesome we spent some time with her in the nursing home today lots and lots of laughs.
And I got my birthday present early. I now own a 5.0 Mega Pixel Digital SLR Camera. Very posh indeedy.
And that my friends is that.
New PJ’s
Jenny bought me these coke pyjamas on our 6 months of going out day.

mmmmm coke.
the weekend that was
interesting weekend.
Friday night david and I did our traditional hang out, we played Daytona at timezone and then saw Wedding Crashers” at the cinema.
It was a pretty funny film, I like Owen Wilson.
Bah I cant be bothered giving a spiel on it so lets just say it gets 5 / 7.
Saturday we had a long day at work but it was a fun day, then Saturday night was jenny’s stint in hospital. And there I was the caring boyfriend at her bedside.
Then today, today involved much sleeping and snoozing. Jenny and I also talked in church this morning and tonight about Greece.
and that my friends is that.
Theif!
When we have work experience kids here at work I like to buy them a silly gift at the end of their week here. We had a young fella with us this week so after being in the food court this afternoon I walked back towards the office and entered one of hornsby’s $2 shops to buy him a pressie.
I went into the shop and started going up and down the isles looking for something silly to purchase.
After a few mins a little lady who worked in the shop came up to me and said “would you like any help?” . I said no and that I was just looking.
I think I must look like a shifty youth. Because she stayed standing beside me then when I moved further up the isle she moved with me, not at a distance like right beside me. I walked to a different isle she came too. She wasn’t inconspicuous at all she was following me making sure I wasn’t steal anything. I thought I would test it a bit so I went to the front of the shop, she followed, I went to the back of the shop, she followed. Then I found a toilet brush to buy for our work experience kid. She followed me as I weaved towards the checkout. Once I was at the checkout she then left me.
Crazy.
I wasn’t stealing anything I paid the full $4.50 for the toilet brush.
poetry of the bowel
last wendesday i put out the challenge to write a poem called “the river of my bowel flows towards you”
There where 4 entrants and here they are.
-
the river of my bowel flows towards you by libby
the river of my bowel flows towards you
like an uncontrollable natural phenomenon
the contents of which is inexplicable
i wish i could just hold it all in
the river of my bowel flows towards you by jenny
the river of my bowels flows towards you,
stand back
the river of my bowel flows towards you by lachy
I don’t have a clue
How to write a poem for you
All I have to do
Is include the word poo
Is that enough to win
I think not
That would go in the bin
I’ll have to include
A very funny word
This word could only be turd
Whether it be from man or bird
This is a hilariously funny word
This poem I think
Is on the brink
Of Poetic gold
Although the word turd
Is getting old
I still find it funny
Completely absurd
I am aware
That I have four
Lines in every stanza
And in the last more
In fact there are seven
That’s almost eleven
But not actually
In fact it’s no where near
You might just say
I put that there
So my poem might rhyme
The same with the word time
This is not worth winning
But this poor attempt
Has left me grinning
One last word: Contempt.
the river of my bowel flows towards you by Jo
the river of my bowel flows towards you
flowing
flowing
watch out, it’s liver cleansing
So there you have it folks. And the winner of the 50 cent coin goes to lachy.
