Our beutiful city has gone to the absolute dogs.
Riots, bashings all suuposedly spurred from racial friction and unrest.
THis weekend all the beaches in sydney, wollongong and several on the central coast and newcastle will be closed. With 2,000 police ready to control the riots that are expected over the weekend. Its insane what the hell are all these people thinking.

I’m ashamed to be a sydneysider and more so i’m ashamed to be Australian. I wasnt born in Australia oh well i guess that then means that i should be bashed. “Its our country we were born here”. Ok yeah thats fare enough you were born here, just trying to recap on the last 200 years though. Is it not true that the reason you were born here was becasue your anncsestors were convicts? Or was it that your ancesstors stole the land that you now call ‘yours” from the indegenous owners of this land?

STOP THIS CRAP!
no more riots, no more bashings, no more breaking cars, no more racial slurs and comments. ITs bloody stupid just stop it!

Who cares if we have different accents or different coloured skin or different religions. We are all one country we are one people we are Australia.

oh it makes me angry that so many stupid people want to go our and bash each other. rioting will just make it worse.

all we need is tolerence, love, respect and acceptance.

Today is a glorious day for sacks for just $1.20 each. the bargin hunter.

I found today potato sacks for just $1.20 each. Thats right, so if you are planning a sack race over the holiday season Mitre 10 Hornsby is the place for you. They have real potato sacks, once filled with potatos then taken to mitre 10 and sold for $1.20

but folks that isnt the most exciting find of the day. The most exciting find of the day is a 600ml coke buddy for just $2.00. Read back over that you probably cant belive it. Its true again its at mitre 10 hornsby. THey have a coke machine just inside their door with $2.00 buddies.

I havent even ever heard of this guy!

Well i’m back in sydney and i must say i already miss the sun and heat of the Gold Coast.

Tonight Jenny and I bought a box of home brand choc coated ice creams. YOu know the cheapo ones!

Printed on each wrapper is this
“This product contains milk products and ingredients derived from soybeans and wheat”

What the hell, since when did cows express soy beans and wheat instead of milk?

today i got smacked in the balls with a soccer ball. Boy oh boy it hurt.

After i was hit and crunched over a little girl about 5 years old ran over and said “did you get hit in your man berries?”

yesterday we made it to the beach. It was nice the sun was hot the water was cool. The 600ml Coke was refreshing.

I am getting browner, but in me getting browner i still look albino standing next to pretty much everyone up here.

2 more sleeps til home time.

I had a funny story to tell but now i cant remember it. ohwell you will just have to make do with this boring post about nothing much at all.

well the title pretty much sums up our time here, Its so hot. but i like the heat its just dodgy at night when you want to sleep and its so damn hot.
But i’ll cope. I would like to move up here into the sun, i like QLD.

Still havent been to the beach, maybe on sunday.

I am enjoying walking around the house with my shirt off. bIts much easer to do shirts off summer here on the Gold coast.

And Jenny said to me yesterday “I think you are getting browner”

but then i later found out she changed her mind. I”m still just as white.

welcome to QLD the land of exrreme heat.

its so hot up here. Having a good time hanging out with my buddies, hopefuly today we will get to go to the beach.

Well I’m off to the Gold coast bright and early in the morning. On a 9 something flight.
I haven’t packed yet, in fact I haven’t washed my clothes yet either, and its bucketing down with rain and its almost 11pm. I love last minute howie. At the moment I’m stranded at the office on my way home from commy dinner, it just started raining so heavy and I didn’t want my laptop to get wet in my bag so here I am seeking refuge.
Eventually I’ll just go home and leave my computer here and get in on my way to the station in the morning. The other problem is that my shoes are at home so I have to go home bare foot in the rain, which I don’t like as much cause I don’t like mud.

I’ll have internet in QLD so I’ll hopefully still blog a bit.

Man I need to pee, stupid rain noise on the roof.

Bono : “Howie get up here and give me a hug”

Howie: “I’m coming Bono”

Bono: “That bevis frined of yours must be so jealous right now, are we still on for lunch in the foodcourt tomorrow?”

Howie: “We sure are Bono and dont forget you owe me a coke”

The sydney U2 conert is now sold out, just 1 hour and 40 minutes after they went on sale.

and i have a ticket

After 2 computers, 4 internet browsers, 2 mobile phones and a landline.
45 minutes of trying to get into ticketek.

It was a very tense 45 minutes, now its time for a shower to wash off the sweat.

I didnt get to have a shower becasue our water has been cut off becasue men in orange jackets are diggin up the road.

Well folks in under 12 hours tickets go on sale for the much anticipated Sydney U2 concert.

We are going to have all three computers in this house on the ticketek site making sure we log in just on 9am and grab those tickets.

I know there has been some technical hitches with the podcasts lately especially with the podcast RSS feed not working all that well.

Now the feed has been fixed so you can download all the podcasts using the feed not just the most recent one.

Also we have boosted the audio quality of all the podcasts so none of them sound like you a listening through a telephone anymore.

also ‘Podcasting with Howie and Tom’ should be in the itunes podcasst liberary now.

This year has been an embarissing attempt at seeing 52 films in a year.
As of today I am at 25. less than half of the goal.

and in the last 2 weeks i have seen quite a few movies.
Its sad and i expect you will ve utterly dissapointed in me and you will never talk to me again. But to you i say there is still a few weeks left of this year and then i get to start again next year.

Tonight Jenny and i saw ‘domino’

Af film about a girl who is the daughter of a famous actor and she is fed up with her upper class beverly hills lifestyle so she becomes a bounty hunter.
There is lots of violence, swearing and action.
The whole film is in strange colours and arty camera work. A bit over the top for my liking. THe story was ok but a few parts that made no sense and some charactors that just appeared then dissapeared before you could work out who the hell they were.
I give it 4 / 7

and no we did not sit in our allocated seats.

Steve Bevis the man from the mountains has written a song about captain Australia, Mr Howard himself.

Its called ‘The Member for Bennelong’. It is well worth a listen. (unless of course you a strong Howard supporter)

What a beautiful night to watch a film.

So jenny and I headed off to greater Union after work to see the ‘Constant Gardener’

It was quite a good film, it was emotional and I left the cinema with some hatred towards large corporations who exploit innocent humans in developing nations. And the people have no choice, they die because of corporate greed and corruption in political leadership.
I don’t know if it was based on a true story or not but it follows the death of a British diplomats wife. They are both in Kenya and the wife is delving into the corruption and greed of a large pharmaceutical company whilst the man is a diplomat and is working for the people who help the pharmaceutical company exploit the people of Kenya.
It was a compelling story and it really just highlighted how messed up our world can be and is.
Its sp good that non hollywood films are now being released that really tell it how it is.

I give this film 6/7
