I woke up today feeling quite sick and subsequently spent the day taking trips to the toilet. i fee really weak and tired i havent eaten anything all day just been drinking lots of water. After lunch decided to go home. and here i am on the flipside of a patchy 2 and a half hour arvo nap.
today was also the day of the respective parents meeting for the first time, i think it went ok, a few awkward moments to begin with but i think it was all ok.
i’m going to have some potato later.

I got the cat empire dvd the other day, thinking it would be a fun live gig of theirs.
but instead it is snippets of many live gigs all shot with about 1 camera and mixed together to make it look like its one concert. It sucks, the sync is out all over the place the background and clothes and surroundings keep changing. I think they have tired to be all arty but its just painful to watch, the fade out song half way through to cut to interviews with the band members backstage.
dont buy it.

Man twenty 20 cricket is cool.
Such an exciting match to watch, so many big hits and wickets and fast paces.
tonight was the first twenty 20 international game playes in Australia and it was the bomb, ponting and the boys kicked some south african butt.
I like the way they had mics and ear pieces on the captains during the game with the commentators asking them questions.
yep twenty 20 will take off

I cant believe what i just did!
The first shocking thing is that i decided to have breakfast today and that is a very rare occurance.
But after putting the corn flakes into the bowl then sprinkling with brown sugar i got the milk and realised it was off.
I made the rash on the spot descision to try soy milk because i wanted breakfast.
I poured on the brown tinged liquid. The smell was wrong it smelt like dirt mixed with water and flour.
Boy oh boy it was a stuggle to finish but i did it.
hopefuly never again.

Today Jenny and I ventured up the mountains to the zig zag railway.
You may have picked up that I really like trains and I always have, I love catching trains, and train tickets and when I was little my family would often take me on steam train trips because they knew I loved it so much. I even got to go on the Flying Scotsman when it toured Australia.
My nan used to take me away on little holidays to blackheath and we would stay in a motel and it was all very exciting for me. On one of these little holidays we went to the zig zag railway and I loved it. Today I got to relive those memories with my nan and re experience the great little railway.
here are some photos from today.

At the bottom of my driveway about to leave.

After driving along the pacific highway, then pennant hills road then the M2 this is us on the m7 before we turn onto the m4 and head up the Blue Mtns highway before going across to the Bells line of road.

And here she is, the great zig zag railway, complete with coal shovelling man walking down the tracks.

the loco in place at the end of Clarence station ready to take us down the mountain

jenny looking out the window.

the zig zag

puffing along back up the mountain on our return journey.

the little station at the midway points where the loco uncouples and moves to the other end of the carriages.

the front of the loco

oh I was having so much fun.

Our afternoon at the zig zag draws to a close, but not without a trip to the gift shop.

this is ziggy one of our purchases from the shop.
Oh what a mighty fine day it was, I love the smell of the smoke and the soot in your face and the noise and the ricketynes of the old carriages. Oh how I love steam trains.

They tell me preparing for a wedding is stressful and hard and emotional.
And just the other day I agreed.
But here I am a man who is getting married in September and the church is booked, the reception place is booked and there is a draft guest list, draft order of service and potential honeymoon destination.
Not to bad I’d say.
The reception place is cool, nice gardens, good menu, ampitheatre, and its was kinda cheap.
Sorry scott!

the organising of the church and the order of service and the guest list and the reception venue and who is doing what.
its kind of fun but also kind of stressful with different people pushing their views on what we should do and no that wont work and you cant do that.
But jenny and i have a pretty good idea what we want so all we need to do know is make it happen.
we need a nice reception place that has a nice ourdoors bit for people to stand around chatting and a nice inside bit for those who dont like the outside and we need it cheap. Any ideas?
oh and we need food for it too but not too much just nice nibbles and drinks. mmmmmm coke.
