finally something to blog about
Tonight after commy dinner I was walking home, and there passed out on the footpath was an older man.
It was down the side of the RSL club and i figured there is probably often people passed out on this section of footpath late at night, after having a few to many inside.
anyway i couldnt just walk past and pretend i didnt see anything, otherwise the story of the good samaritan would haunt me forever and i would see myself as one of the men who didnt stop.
I tapped him on the shoulder and there was no response. So i shook him a little and he awoke from his late evening nap. He tried sitting up but that wasnt really working for him all that well. I asked if he was ok or in pain and if he wanted any help. He mumbled a bit i couldnt really understand except that he mumbled ‘ambulance’ so i made sure that is what he was saying and i called 112. It was fun calling 112 i have never called it before i have always used 000.
Then 40 or so minutes later an ambulance turned up.
By the time the ambulance had turned up the man was sitting up and coherant enogh to find his smokes and have a few.
The ambulance men had a talk to him, decided he was fine and told him they werent a taxi service and that he should get a taxi home.
THen the 2 ambo guys picked the man up and got him to his feet. Whihc being on his feet he didnt look all that much in control. he sort of fell back onto a litttle wall and sat there. The ambos eventually decided to take him home.
and then i continued my walk home.
i’m sorry
I used to be so much better at blogging.
what happened?
I thing being sick for so long has impacted casue i havent done anything interesting for ages.
tired
been a pretty big week at work. I”m tired and drained.
in other news i had to wee into a cup again for the doctor today. good old urninry tract infections!
seems to be getting better though whcih is good
sleepover giggles and an allen key
Lasy night after work I went to the city to meet Tom and hang out with him. I gave tom some moral support, helping him get to an internal place where he was reeady to face his fears and catch a bus from the city to enmore.
We did it. I think he was ok and may even be ready to catch a bus all by himself.
tom gave me a tour of his new home, its a pretty fun house.
Then it was work time, it was time to be men and build stuff.
We build an ikea desk. alan key that didnt tighten very well, bits of wood that didnt line up. Oh how good ikea products are. In the end it was taking us quite a while to make this desk. tom had to go and get jem’s tool box so we could undo some of our mistakes. (whihc i might add were due to a dodgy instruction book that had the wonrg picture in it).
Anyway at around 11:30pm or later it was time for the hammer. The alan key just wasnt cutting it. Tom whacked away. Eventually he had a desk.
We managed to clear enough space on his floor for me to sleep on an air bed.
This morning we left home at 8:10 I arrived back in hornsby at 10:10. There was a few wrong turns and traffic. And not many trains but i made it.
6 weeks and another chapter
Well it has almost been six weeks of being sick and slowly but gradually i was improving.
That was, until yesterday!
New pains and uncomfortableness topped with a really sore back.
A restless night and a few heat packs then it was off to the doctor again this morning. My doctor is getting very used to me visiting him, if i didnt have to pay him $45 every time we hung out i could develope a good friendship with him.
Anyway the verdict is i have a bladder infection, which i can tell you is not very pleasant and quite painful.
So he gave me some antibiotis and sent a sample off the the lab for more testing.
I was quite scared about going to him becasue of the location of the pain and the effects of the pain i was scared that this visit to the doctor could be quite confronting for me. That he was going to tell me to drop the pants and turn and cough.
But luckily all i had to do was go into the toilet and pee into a jar.
and that is that, if its just a normal bladder infection is should be cleared in a day or 2 thanks to the tablets but i need to go back on friday for the results of the full test he is doing.
And my back he reckons is just some muscular thing, panadol and heat packs.
yay
one more for the year
Yesterday Jenny and i saw Jarhead

I was expecting it to be a lot like three kings, from seeing the trailer in the last month or so it looked like it was going to be a really good movie. I really like three kings.
It turned out not to be all that comparable to three kings, but it stood up by itself and was a good movie. I think the main guy in it was also in tigerland, another awesome war film.
War is a bit of a stupid thing.
I dont think it can give this move as high marks as i gave syriana but i can give it 5 / 7
look out wheat board you’re next!
Last night josh and i saw Syriana

It was a really good movie. George clooney really does make good films. At times there was a lot of deep intellectual conversations going on that i couldnt keep up with and there where so many different stories happening at once. It was quite itense. Its another one of these films that has come out recently that really doesnt make America look all that good or nice. And unfortunatly i think it shows a lot of truth about the super power.
The film is based around the oil industry, big american corporations trying to get all the oil in the middle east but we get to see the story from many different angles.
i’m gonna give it 6 /7
shepheards pie hippy style
I like shepheards pie, its a good winter food.
tonight i had “gardeners pie”. it is the vegeterian version of shepheards pie.
It doesnt cut it.
It shall now be known as ‘pansy pie’
Its weird how vegetarianism is all against eating meet and the killing of animals and yet their food tries so hard to be meat.
‘not chicken’
‘not bacon’
‘TVP mince’
‘Tofu burger’
‘Pansy pie’
first person to get the anser right wins one of my socks
guess who is under 60kg
expensive toys
tom and i went to entech today.
Its a big trade show for sound and lighting gear mostly. It was fun, its all abit out of our league though neither of us know all that much about sound or lighting but its still cool seing lots of big lights and massive mixing desks and stuff.
We sat in on a demo for a bunch of speakers in a big post auditorium, i nearly fell asleep it was quite dull in parts, the man out the front was just quoting serial numbers or something.
if i had lots of money i could easily find stuff to buy there.
I think we should go to the big film and tc trade show that is more up our alley.
journey back to birth
I’m sure it has probably been done before but i’m thinking of making a ducumentary about me searching for my birth mum. I thought it would be cool to interview my firends and family and then document my trip to scotland if i ever make it and hopefuly be able to interview my birth mother.
but then i dont know if doing that will take away from the bery personal and intimate atmoshpere the whole thing may be.
I’m quite undecided really.
its a big descision to make, not the docco part but the whole finding my birth mother part.
big hair, tight pants
my goodness me the 80′s were a bad era for fashion. It seems to me that is has beeen the worst decade in fashion in all of history.
sad and happy all rolled into one
Today is my Nan’s 90th birthday.
My mum had organised a room at the local club and there was lots of balloons and streamers. My nan arrive by one of those fun wheelcahir taxi’s with my mum. And she got a good surprise becasue she didnt know that me and jenny came up, but also my nans only living cousin who is 88 also came with his wife. so my nan was very happy she got to see her only living cousin. THere was lots of food and rude coinversations between me and my nan.
My nan loves country music and my mum had hired some guy to come and play for her. a little strange only 7 of us all together plus one fella playing guitar, but he was good and nan had her feet tapping away in her wheel chair.
I really love my nan, we have always been such great buddies she was always taking me on fun advenrtues on trains and stuff. Little over night holidays in motels and stuff. She has always loved me so much and spoilt me.
Its hard seeing her a bit these days becasue she is so old and frail and her mind isnt as together as it used to be. So its a bit hard becasue she isnt the nan that she has always been, buut then again she is the same. she still loves me and loves it when i come and see her up here.
I dont think she will be around for heaps longer and that sucks. but lets celevrate while she nis still here. yay for my nan.
the hottest spot in the country
Well jenny and i arrived in Armidale at about 8:30 last night. It took us 7hrs to get here with quite a few stops along the way.
We are up here because its my nan’s 90th birthday, she is old.

Well i just sent an email to the Adoption department in Scotland to ask how i can go about tracking down my birth mother.
who knows if i will go through with actually trying to find her, i seem to go in waves sometimes i think it would be a good thing to do, and then other times it doesnt seem like a good idea.
I have been thinking about it for several years now.
anyway.
now i need to find something to make
I just installed final cut Express HD and soundtrack onto lappy along with 4,000 roylatry free music loops.
