The unwritten turf law

9:07 am Dogs

During the day in this wide brown land you often here the sounds of a 2 stroke mower, or whipper snipper doing the rounds of a local backyard.

Between the men who operate these noisy lawn chomping machines there is an unwritten law surrounding the time of day you are allowed to begin. Sure the wife may say “Husband, go mow the lawn now” but you have to stand up to her and say “Wife, its too damn early, I must abide by the unwritten turf law”

I would say the appropriate starting time would be 9:30am and if its a sunday then maybe 10:30 is a better time to start.

This morning there was some knob in our street who started a bit before 7:30, damn thing woke me up. he must be whipper sniping the whole damn street casue he’s still going and its 9:10.

i missed out on an hour of my sleep!

I have been known to commence lawn mowing on weekdays at approximately 8am. I agree with your weekend statement but I reckon if tradesmen can start at 7am on weekday then bring on the lawn mowing!

P.S. I envy you sleeping until 8:30am… I have to get up at 5:30am 5 days a week to get to work in Penrith!
