14 hours of inflight entertainment here we come!

showered, fed, now i can begin packing.

Tom and I are off to save the world later today. Most people think we are heading abroad to go and spread the good news in Kenya. Well we are doing that, but the main reason we are going is we are being deported by AFP, DFAT and anyone else who works for the government. you see up until sunday afternoon i had a pretty thick beard, which is ground for deportation, and tom well he knows me so he has to go for being associated with a man with a beard.

if becasue of this blog post i’m not allowed back into the country can someone please mow the lawn for my wife in a few weeks.

damn technology has ruined my attention span.

I’m trying to write 4 sermons but the internet and westfield and lunch and pretty much everything is distracting me.

For about the last 2 years and much more frequent in the last few months, I make those security things at the doors to shops beep.

Its weird cause it doesnt happen in every shop. sometimes its just when i walk in. and sometimes its the bad one, only when i walk out.

I havent done any shop lifting i promise. Its annoying though. often i warn the shop assistants that i’m going to beep on the way out. I’m sure sometimes they think i’m shifty.

maybe when i had the camera up the bum they left a barcode inside me or something.

wife just made choc chip muffins.

Cadel could be Mr Yellow Jersey tonight.

tonight is the time trial stage, there is still another stage tomorrow but tonight is the big one. Cadel is only 1:50 behind contodr and cadel is a better time trial rider. oh boy oh boy its exciting.

on the down side becasue he is coming second it means he starts the time trial second last which will probably be around 1:30am local time.

wife and i got a free pas to see ‘amazing grace’ so today we did.

It was ok, not the most fantastic film i have ever seen. I find it hard to get into movies set so far in the past. I’m just not much of a period piece person.

This is the sort of film that if you are a Christian you are probably supposed to be really moved by it, the inspiring William Wilberforce standing up to injustice and fighting to abolish slavery at the same time battling with himself and eventually overcoming his self doubt and triumphing.

Its a great story, and because of him slavery was abolished. But i didnt really feel moved or inspired by it. and if a films story doesnt grab me i find myself just disecting the other atributes of the film, the camera angles the sound the acting.

It wasnt a bad film, just not a howie film. you may love it.

Today wife and I went to the city to visit homer at the movies.

Before we saw the movie we had some maccas and ran into prawn, there was this guy saying ‘howie’ I had no idea who it was. They shook my hand and we chatted for a bit. took me a while to realise it was prawn. so hello prawn.

The simpsons movie was really good fun. It was funny and a bit more naughty than the tv show which was cool. Not to give it all away but there is some nudity.

I’m gonna give it 6/7

Here I am 2 and a half hours into writting my first ever sermon.

Which i will share with some kenyan peoples in just over a week.

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

on maybe now is a good time to fill people in on what tom and I are doing in Kenya, I know some people are wondering and i havent really said.

Well we are going over to Kenya, to a town called Kitale which is in the west of Kenya towards the Ugandan border. Tom was invited by a Pastor over there to come and speak at his church so tom said ok and then asked me if i wanted to come. Not really knowing what i would do we decided that i could share the speaking duties with tom as the paster wanted 12 sermons in 5 days or something like that. So at this stage i’m doing 4 talks and tom is doing 8 but oine of the joys of africa is that all of this could change with no notice.

so there you go, Toms helping me with the sermons and i’m changing my underpants every few minutes.

the letter ’s’ has almost completely rubbed off its key on my keyboard.

Its the only one.

i’m going to have to reduce my uage of the letter.

At least the cracked page down key now has a buddy.

I really enjoy Le tour De France. the problem is that its on so late at night and that its not just a one off, it goes for over 2 weeks.

The upside is that due to much consultation they decided to put the tour during my holidays.

I think tonight i may have scraped the very bottom of entertainment possibilities for a friday night.

I just spent the last few hours watching big brother ‘friday night live’

I dont know why for some reason i didnt turn the tv off or put on a dvd. I feel so seedy and unclean. My goodness me it was crap television.

Today was going to be the day of visiting the camping shop, whale watching, boardwalk walking and pasta eating.

It was all going to plan until the wuss bag boat captain decided to cancel the whale watching due to strong winds.

Lets blame ice addicts and the cross city tunnel

we did however go to the boardwalk thing and that was fun. And pasta for dinner at the pasta place was good too. I ate way too much and I think its safe to say I will never fit into my wedding pants again.

Back from the bowlo now.

There was bingo! The man running the bingo was really unenthusiastic, he was just reading out the numbers in a monotone mumble. there was no ‘legs 11′.

the food was pretty good. It didnt really need the hair in the fried rice but maybe thats just me.

Today wife and I went to timbertown. I have to say it seemed much more exciting when i was litttle. But i still had much fun on the little steam train and eating scones.

tonight its of to the bowlo for a buffet dinner. I hope there is bingo

mmmmm free wifi broadband.

We went down to ‘pancakes plus’ for dinner it was a real hot spot. Yummy.

We also went on a long walk in search of the info centre but jenny’s inbuilt compass failed us. But not to worry if we do a bit more walking I might just fit into my wedding pants to wear in kenya.

tomorrow. Timbertown Wahooooooooo it has a little stream train.

we are now in our cupboard sized room in Port Macquarie. We seem to have a nack of booking rooms no bigger than the bags we brought.

Today wife and I went to Warringah Mall.

I got to use the self serve checkout at Big W. its the coolest thing ever. You get to scan your own stuff then feed your money into a machine. its so cool.

I’m not sure if there is anything in the whole world that can top it.
