this evening wife and i went to the taping of the first new ‘Good News Week’ shows.

The ticket info said to be there at 5:30pm at the ABC studios in Sydney.
From experience of watching show tapings we knew it would be best to get there earlier.

We go to the ABC at 4:30 and went in to the main foyer. We sat down on some couches and commented on how empty the place was. After about 30mins of sitting we realised that we must have somehow slipped in at just the right time casue the rest of the audience members where lining up outside the building and the doors were locked. Every now and then a security man would walk past us but say nothing. At 5:30 the crowd outside was quite big and inside they had set up the holding pen for the audience around the couch that jenny and i were sitting on.
Eventually a man with a swanky pass asked if we were there for GNE, we said yes and he walked off. We got to sign our names off while everyone else was still locked outside. It meant that when they opened the doors to the building we were already inside and not just that but we were at the very front of the line to go into the studio. There was a lot of waiting infact we didnt all get ushered into the studio until 6:30pm.

As we were the first in we picked some primes seats in the front row right in the middle. A camera lady told me she might sit on my feet every now and then and an explosivs man told us there was a cannon beside us that was going to fire paper into the air and ver quite loud. It was a damn cool seat.

I love watching television being made. I guess thats why I studied TV production for 2 years, every time i’m in a studio i want to be a cameraman.

GNW was really good, Paul was funny, mikey was funny and all the guests were funny except pat cash he was a little quiet.
I think good news week will be much better this time around compared with its last stink on 10.
There was however some shameless cross promotion with the show ’supernatural’ which was a bit blerk….

It took 3 hours to tape the 1 hour show and was a pleasure to watch.

Today wife and I had an early valentines meal.

Being the true romantics we are it obviously would be at some nice quant little resteraunt with an expensive wine list, a posh meal followed by a stroll along the waters edge hand in hand.

Actually it went a bit more like this. We went to La Porchetta in west gosford, its super classy its got racing cars in it. I had a ham and pineapple pizza with a glass of coke and wife had pasta with lemon line and bitters. We did however go for a nice stroll after, through the computer section of the domayne store next door.

Today was another long day at TEAR, it was thought provoking and challenging but most of all it was tiring. Especially after a 13 hour working day yesterday.

Anyway asi was leaving the office it began to piss down with rain and i had lappy in my bag and am not convinced my bag is entirely water proof. So i decided to bus it to railway square.. A bus came pretty much straight away. And I handed over my money to the driver man and said railway square, he wouldnt take my money and told me not to worry and just go sit down.

After getting home from work and knowing that the love birds where coming over at 7:30 maccas was the clear choice for my dinner. It was raining so wife was going to drive me. We got in the car and drove around the corner, the car was making a funny noise, a noise like it had a flat tire.

I  got out and checked, there was a flatty.

The car limped ack around the corner to home, where I leaped into ‘man mode’ i grabbed the jack and the metal thingy you use to undo the wheel nuts.

I got the hub cap off with a bit of force, then began to be masculine. The only problem I encountered was that I wasnt strong enough to make the nuts budge. Even standing on the bar thingy and jumping up and down they didnt move. This wheel wasnt coming off. To make it all the more pleasent it was raining too.

Anyway jenny rang her dad and after a while he came over to help. After quite a while of him breaking into a sweat and swearing without swearing the nuts still didnt budge. Eventually he tried the jumping up and down thing too and eventually the nuts came loose. During this process I ate my soggy maccas meal that prawn brought for me and held an umbrella over father in law. I managed to soak him once. wooops.

in the end jenny’s car has the spare wheel on and I have black stuff under my fingernails, looking at my hand it looks like i’m pretty tough. dont tell anyone that i wasnt strong enough.

I hope this black stuff comes off it makes my hands feel rough.

yesterday we had a work thing all day and today was house cleaning day so wahoo what a weekend!

Actually last night was fun, joshy and sam came over for some board game playing and later on the two love birds dropped in too.
