question time

audience participation 7 Comments

The following are questions that you may like to answer, they are questions I don’t know the answer to but I have come up with them from a bunch of different conversations i’ve had with a bunch of different people lately.

  • How did a multinational company spending millions on marketing let isnack2.0 out of the office?
  • Why is cityrail releasing a new timetable that will make travel times longer and increase the need for people to change trains mid journey?
  • Why is the Government being so soft on climate change and increasing aid to 0.7% of GNI by 2015?
  • Why does sticking my finger in my ear guarantee a little chunk of wax on my finger on removal even if the last time I put my finger in was only a few minutes ago?
  • Why is there such a desire by Christians and church’s to plant more churches when the ones we have are not full?
  • Has my street always been noisy or is it just since i’ve had a son?
  • Why is the church in Sydney spending so much money on a marketing campaign that didn’t work in other cities?
  • Why do most people think the only way to combat poverty is to sponsor a child and go overseas for 2 weeks with a hammer?
  • Why do nose hairs keep poking out the bottom of my nose even though i pluck them?
  • Why do i always feel the need to intersperse silliness amongst serious conversation?

Tomorrow i’ll be traveling 218km on the cityrail network and then 274km in a car.

I’m starting at home bright and early, training it to Fassifern to run 3 simulation games in a High school then training it form Fassifern to Engadine where I get in a car and travel to Canberra where I will go to sleep. Saturday is a conference all day i’m runing a couple of workshops, then more sleep and Sunday a drive back to Engadine then a train back home.

I’m sure my travel time would be dramatically reduced if i had real eyes and a license.

The other day we got a bike trailer so now Oscar can come for rides with me, and hopefully spending money on the trailer will motivate me to actually go riding which will help me not be a fat dad who can’t play with his son later in life.

Today was Oscar’s first adventure, we just went around the block, but he had a good time.

She raised a heap of cash monies for TEAR which is great!

Last night I got to see my 4th movie for the year. This has been my worst ever year for visits to the cinema, having a child ruins everything.

Last night Tom and I went to see ‘Funny People”

I really liked it, it made me laugh a lot. It’s probably because i’m immature and jokes about genitals and farting will get me every time.

They always say you shouldn’t send cash through the post.

Today i received $320,000,000,000,000 in the mail.

Since the total crash of their economy the bank of Zimbabwe decided to print the largest bank note in the world. $100 trillion zimbawe dollars.

So Bevis and I hooked ourselves up with some cash the other night and it arrived today.

I’m now a trillionare!

If the Zimbabwe dollar was not suspended this is what my $160,000,000,000,000 would be worth

I’m home after spending the last 4 days in our nations capital.

Yesterday I got to attend a breakfast with Ruddy and Malcom. It was damn early in the morning, Ruddy was only 2 tables away but I didn’t meet him.

All up in the last 2 days I spent 18 hours inside parliament house. I’m stuffed. And wearing a suit is dumb even if i did look shmick.

sawing through child mortality

general chit chat 10 Comments

I spent the whole day in the carport today being all manly and creative.

I’m making some big cut-outs of Millenium Development Goal 4.

Reducing child mortality.

4_child_mortality.jpg

Next Monday and Tuesday I’ll be in Parliament House with 269 other people lobbying politicians to increase out aid giving to 0.7% of our GDP and specifically looking at increasing funds for fighting child mortality as it is one of the MDG’s that is lagging the most.

Anyway I’m making these cut outs for using at an eent on the fonrt lawns of Parliament house.

I think they are coming along nicely, and i’m getting the hand of my new jigsaw.

I’m making 5 of them and so far only 1 is finished.

social justice, what the hell is that?

general chit chat 7 Comments

Today I was up the coast at a year 10 social justice day running 3 workshops.

The day was for the whole of year 10 of wich there are 120 students.

68 students did not turn up to school today from year 10.

Justice is alive and kicking on the coast.

At my first workshop I had 4 young people, then 6 and then 15.

There was about 6 organisations running workshops, and i managed to scorea lift back to the train station with one of them.

Does it seem odd to you that a christian aid and development organization has fleet cars which are big SUV’s????
