Today i took mac-daddy down to the apple store in the city as he has been running a bit hot lately, in fact the other day i noticed his brain (CPU) running at 91 degrees and the fans not really kicking in to assist him.
So i hit up a bunch of web forums but they where no help, so today I visited the genius bar. A friendly genius had a look at mac-daddy and then did a CPU stress test and managed to get him up to 95 degrees, the fan was going but not fast enough to cool down at that temp.
So the genius looking a little puzzled vanished through the magic silver mac doors to go and ask someone more senior what the go is. I’m pretty sure the silver door leads to a big white room where Steve jobs is sitting behind a big glass desk with a giant Imac on it. The genius slowly approaches the desk while jobs finishes his important business call with his driver who is en route to pick up a fresh batch of ironed black skivvies. The genius places my mac daddy on the big glass desk and Jobs leans over to delicately open the utilities folder.
He chats with the genius who divulges the over heating problem. Jobs raises his hand to to genius to stop him blabbing. He stares back at mac daddy and a little tear runs down his left cheek as he realizes one of his babies is sick. He orders the genius to book it in for some high priority surgery in the state of the art operating room down the corridor where macs lay on silk sheets waiting to be revamped, repaired and cared for.
Anyway the genius came back out from behind the magic silver door and said he has orded a whole bunch of things and i’ll need to bring mac-daddy in for some TLC next week and that he will have to sleep over for a few nights.
The great thing is that apple is really good with customer service, they told me how long the repair would take, what exactly was going to be done and all for free!!!

Is this all getting repaired under standard warranty or did you buy the extra plan thingy?
I’m trying to work out whether or not to spend the extra $300 if/when I finally purchase…
Applecare, it’s worth the extra monies.
I visited the Apple store in the city today and spoke with someone who I assume was Steve Jobs.
He told me that Macs were really good, so I think I’m going to buy one soon.
