Next sunday is the Hornsby Shire Centenary, Country Fair and Steam Train Day.
The country fair sounds boring but the steam train bits sounds fun. They have a steam train running from waitara station to Gorson station, then you come back with to waitara with some vintage diesel locco.
You have to pre book tickets for the train trips and they have 4 trips throughout the day.

What is your view on wearing hats, caps, beanies etc in church?
Personally i think its fine to wear a hat in church, I dont think its disrespectful to God or the people around me. People should be able to come before God in way that is comfortable for them, i guess thats why there are so many denominations and different styles of services and stuff within those denominations.
Today is one of those days that will go down in history.
There are two ways this day can be recorded in history.
Option One
On this day the 1st of July 2005 the 8 richest nations in the world got together in Edinburgh, Scotland. They discussed money and power and the subject of dropping world debt, in giving more money to overseas aid and helping rebuild the globe that these rich 8 nations destroyed. They will discuss doing something about the 1 Billion people around the developing world who live in slums because these 8 nations do nothing.
They will discuss the future of this planet. But Alas greed and power is more important than ‘loving our neighbour’. It is their own fault they are poor. The UN development goals are unachievable.
Option Two
On this day the 1st of July 2005 the 8 richest nations in the world got together in Edinburgh, Scotland.
And yes due to an overwhelming global response to make poverty history. The UN development Goals are achievable and we can work together to ensure that by 2015 the number of nations and people living in poverty is halved. The women have equality right throughout the globe. That the spread of disease such as HIV / Aids is eradicated. That every child on the face of this planet has an opportunity to be educated in a school. That all humans have access to safe drinkable water and sanitation. Today is a day that changed the world forever, at last we can work together to ensure that Poverty Really is History.
Peoples we can help, We have a voice. And if like me you want to see poverty history lets make sure we make today option two.
Wear a white band, Wear a white shirt, encourage your friends to do the same. Head down to a rally to support the Development Goals. Let the meeting in Scotland see this global response to poverty and let them see that we want equality.
