ham & pineapple recipes

It’s been a long time since I blogged, it’s been even longer since I let our boys have a play in the front yard.
So this morning whilst Oscar was digging a hole and ‘planting’ leaves and Jenny was weeding, I sat with the turtles in the front yard, enclosed in their mobile digs. Which if you have forgotten I made and you can read all about it here.
I got out a camping chair, slouched down and soaked up the sun while the turtles tried to escape and birds swooped above.I also took some snaps. If you are wondering the turtles turn 7 years old in 2 days and we have had them for 6 years!!!

Ham

Pineapple being held up, I’m pretty sure he is smiling

Ham up close, also smiling

So I could show Oscar the mad skills the turtles have, I placed each of them on their backs so Oscar could see them flip over.

Pineapple

Ham
Other things I did today included turning a carved wooden letter ‘d’ into an ‘a’. Eating a chicken burger and taking Oscar for a drive in Jenny’s car.

growing up so fast
Our boys are 4 years old. It was their birthday while we where in Melbourne town so they didn’t get a party. Instead the spent the week with Tom, probably watching a lot of DVD’s.

Here is them at the age of 1.

ham and pineapple aquire holiday house
The other day I went to bunnings to look around for stuff to make a better outdoor enclosure for the boys. Normally we just take them out every few weeks in a plastic box with some water in it. But its time to get a bit more elaborate.
I give you ‘Ham and Pineapple’s Garden Retreat’

Market value for this 5 Star garden retreat is $42
reptile turn and coff
Because of Ham’s injury we took the boys to a specialist reptile vet man this morning. The vet man checked out Ham’s foot and did a few tests on a water sample from our tank. Poor old Pineapple just came along for moral support for Ham and he ended up getting a syringe shoved up his butt hole. Ham didn get the probe and he was the sick one. Poor pineapple.
We have to change a few things but on the whole we are looking after the boys well. We need to bath hams foot in some stuff once a day for the next few weeks.
Now pineapple and I can do some father son bonding sharing our experiences of medical staff probing private bits.
grazed ham
Poor little ham has somewhow grazed is front left foot. So we took him out of the tank today and put a bit of benadine on the wound. We thought he would go nuts with thee benadine but he didnt. He went nuts before we put the stuff on but during he just sat there.

Ham & Pineapple gave me a fathers day present today. they are good boys. I got old jamaica chocolate and some other chocolate. I’m glad they gave me stuff that i would like casue not sure if i would be able to pull off the fake smile if they gave me some of their favourite food.

Today I took the boys out to get some sun. Normally when we take them out for sun the swim around in a big tub with that is half in the sun half in the shade.
Last week we decided to take the boys out and put them on the lawn for a few minutes. They just sort of stood there not knowing what to do.
Today I put ham onto the lawn while pineapple was still in the tub. ?He looked around, then for some reason he decided to do a runner. He’s a fast little bugger.
I got him.

here is ham exploring the lawn.

And here is pineapple exploring the back lawn a bit later.
in other news i dont fit into my wedding pants anymore.
