Well if it wasn’t exciting enough celebrating the new financial year, you now get to celebrate 9 years of this blog this month.

So I’ve had a fiddle with the template, what do you think?

Today I have been a Dad for one year.

To mark this occasion Oscar got a bunch of presents and i got diddly squat.

You are probably wanting some soppy post where I expose my feelings and reflect on my firt year as a Dad.

Well it ain’t gonna happen apart from me saying, I like the little guy and he likes me.

I’ve already written one serious post this year, If i write another i might turn into to a real person.

Oscar today decided to show his gratitude for my fathering, he managed to kick me in the nuts and hit me in the eye at exactly the same time when he was sitting on me.

Today marks 7 years since Howie’s Halfpipe began.

You would think I would at least make a new banner or something, but instead all i did was badly edit the old one and put in a celebratory spelling mistake.

My life has been pretty plain lately so nothing exciting has been on here for months.

Today i’m getting my eyes checked, bet you can’t wait to see and hear how it goes.

Anyway thanks for reading the old halfpipe, and here’s to another 7 years

Today was fullly hectic.

It began with a trip up the blue mountains to wish bevis a happy birthday.

Party skills where in full swing with me, tom and jenny finding some chairs and remaining in them for the majority of the time we where there.  We ate, talked and gave bevis a big ass bottle of wine for his birthday.

then it was home time for some packing and water changing for the turtles.

After about 25 mins at home I was up to hornsby station to meet tom so we could have a man date in the city whilst jenny was at the swans.

tom and i trained it to the city and went to the apple store, we used some macbook pro’s to look up movie times and headed to the union to watch ‘pineapple express’.

It was a strange movie and i think they struggled to fill 2 hours with pot jokes and smoke rings. It had some quite funny bits but on the whole it’s probably a dvd only movie.

3 / 7

after the movie oporto was eaten, then some sitting at central while jenny was still swanning. tom and i chatted about life and scantily clad women. Eventually jenny arrived and tom just disappeared, i went to the station entracne to help jenny with our bags and when i came back in he was gone. My guess is he ran off with one of the scantily clad women we saw earlier.

Then wife and i trained it to mascot and walked to the Stamford hotel where we are sleeping tonight, in the morning we head off to Adelaide for 4 nights of freezing cold baby-mooning.

tomorrow is the one year celebration of me being jenny’s husband. she is pretty lucky, i’m the best husband a girl could have.

We just got back from a celebratory romantic dinner at an Italian resteraunt in castle hill, it was good althogh my 250ml’s of coke cost $3.60
and the garlic bread was really a loaf of garlic with sprinkles of bread.

now we are home the real celebrations begin, and before your mind wanders not thats not the sort of celebrating i’m talking about.
I’m gonna loosen my belt a bit and sit back and watch the rest of the swans game, and maybe have some ice cream.
then its sleeping time.

Was just on the phone to my Mum, my cat ‘rolley’ died yesterday.

Thats is sad, he was my little buddy. the last year or so he has had a cancer growing in his mouth which the couldnt really operate on. Apparenty the last few weeks he was in heaps of pain and the cancer thing was oozing everywhere.

Poor little guy, he was such a placid friendly little cat, he was a pansy too, scared of birds.

bye bye little buddy.

No i’m not talking about squatting in terms of hovering over a pit toilet.

I’m talking about my place of residence, the dwelling in which i have lived for the past 6 years.

Tonight is my last night living here, and to celebrate 6 years of living hear I asked Jane (the land lady) if i could live here.

This was the first time i had asked her. she said i could stay but only tonight!

I’m glad of that.

Its been a good 6 years living here, i’m definatly going to miss the house the people the memories of good times and not so good times.

I’m not however going to miss the shower head.

July has come upon us. And july can mean only one thing. Its howie’s halfpipes birthday!!!!!!!! On the 10th of July this little insignificant site with more than its fare share of typos and spelling mistakes will turn 4 years old.

The other thing that will happen in july is that I will have my 50,000 visitor.
My prediction is that the 50,000th visitor will be on July 26.

Boy oh boy the 50,000 visitor will win the grandest prize of them all (yet to be thought of).

But in the meantime sit back relax and pretend there is a nice montage of my blog posts from the last 4 years floating and fading across the screen with some tacky slow music behind it.

On saturday night myself jo and tom went to the 20th birthday of our primary school.

It was a strange evening, seeing people that i havent seen since primary school, some of which married and some pregnant and it wsa all a bit overwhelming. some parts of my memories make primary school feel not all that long ago, but other things make it feel so so long ago. It was 12 years ago that i left primary school.

It was a good evening, lots of laughing and sillyness with tom and VB and daniel. Lots of photos and good food, meat glorious meat.

I also had the pleasure of grabbbing scottyc’s bum.

then sunday night at church there was a baptism service, it was cool seeing so many people gettting the dunk and most of them only deciding there and then on the night. It was a special time.

Today is my Nan’s 90th birthday.

My mum had organised a room at the local club and there was lots of balloons and streamers. My nan arrive by one of those fun wheelcahir taxi’s with my mum. And she got a good surprise becasue she didnt know that me and jenny came up, but also my nans only living cousin who is 88 also came with his wife. so my nan was very happy she got to see her only living cousin. THere was lots of food and rude coinversations between me and my nan.
My nan loves country music and my mum had hired some guy to come and play for her. a little strange only 7 of us all together plus one fella playing guitar, but he was good and nan had her feet tapping away in her wheel chair.
I really love my nan, we have always been such great buddies she was always taking me on fun advenrtues on trains and stuff. Little over night holidays in motels and stuff. She has always loved me so much and spoilt me.
Its hard seeing her a bit these days becasue she is so old and frail and her mind isnt as together as it used to be. So its a bit hard becasue she isnt the nan that she has always been, buut then again she is the same. she still loves me and loves it when i come and see her up here.

I dont think she will be around for heaps longer and that sucks. but lets celevrate while she nis still here. yay for my nan.
